The Catcher in the Rye

The Catcher in the Rye
By: J.D. Salinger

One of the most beloved and controversial classics, Catcher in the Rye is THE book to read or share with a teen. You follow teen Holden Caulfield as he goes through a personal crisis while touring New York City after getting kicked out of yet another school. His focus on clinging to his childhood while protecting other children (being a “catcher in the rye”) clashes with the reality of getting older and the trials of life. Funny yet depressing at times, Catcher in the Rye is one of those novels that you have to read at least once…but you’ll end up reading at least twice!
