The Four Seasons, by Mary Alice Monroe, follows the remaining three Season Sisters, after the death of their youngest sister, Meredith “Mary” Season, who must deal with the secrets and mistakes of the past. Published by BrillanceAudio, the novel is performed beautifully by Sandra Burr and should appeal to anyone who is interested in family drama and the rebuilding of relationships.

Jillian “Jilly” Season, a formal model and actress in her 40’s, returns to her childhood home for her sister’s funeral and the two sisters that she has avoided since she departed a home filled with despair, pain and secrets. Currently, down on her luck, Jilly is a free spirit who becomes grounded when she discovers her secret is known by her sisters, Beatrice and Rose. Together the Sisters with Beatrice’s daughter, Hannah, bring the past to light and find healing to their souls and relationships.

  1. This book was very memorable for me, and I almost quit reading it when I came up on the part about the adoption. You see, my teen daughter had recently gone through with an adoption after an unbelievably hard decision. I persevered, though, and the book was very good. It gave me hope that someday Chelsey may have a similar reunion with her son..you are a very special author- we will be back to IOP in July. Bless you, Lynn
