God Don't Like Ugly
By: Mary Monroe
God Don't Like Ugly follows the life of Annette Goode from childhood to early adulthood and the struggles and hardships that she endured during this time. Annette is abandoned by her father and raised by a single mom. The book focuses on Annette being molested from the age of 7 to teenager by a family friend and boarder, Mr Boatwright. With the support of her good friend Rhoda, she is able to get through this difficult time. The book is somewhat of a tearjerker and maybe difficult for some to read. I enjoyed it because it showed how Annette was able to triumph over barriers to get to a positive outcome in her life. Definitely and pageturner, but highly recommened to everybody
