Nocturne
By: Syrie James
Nocturne by Syrie James is yet another vampire romance novel, but it's one that will draw you right in. I'll admit these types of books are a guilty pleasure and I wouldn't be caught dead reading it in public, but I'm so glad I picked it up.
Nicole is a 29 year old California woman returning home from a friend's ski resort wedding in Colorado. After having spent a couple of extra days to enjoy some skiing on her own, she finds herself racing to avoid the impending snowstorm, navigating mountain roads to get to her airport in time. As she makes her way, the snowfall gradually becomes worse and she soon finds herself in whiteout conditions, inevitably becoming stuck in an embankment. Soon catching the eye of Michael, the mysterious stranger and savior, he takes her to his secluded cabin for the next few days to wait out the storm. Here, in complete isolation, she begins noticing strange things about Michael. Secrets begin to be revealed as she confronts him, and they begin to fall for one another despite their pasts. Powerful feelings in such a short amount of time...can they make it together?
I would recommend Nocturne as a nice little break from the ordinary, best enjoyed on cold, cloudy days. I guarantee that you won't be able to put to book down, so make sure your schedule is clear or you'll be dying to know what happens next.
