A Reliable Wife

A Reliable Wife
By: Robert Goolrick

I enjoyed this book. It was a creepy tale of a man who had fallen in love as a young man with a woman that married him for his money. After disposing of his first wife, many years later he decides to marry again and advertise for a new wife. Determined not to repeat the same mistake of falling in lust the ad states that he is looking for “a reliable wife”. The person who answers the ad, Catherine, sends him a picture of her plain cousin and not one of herself. Upon her arrival at the train station her potential husband discovers that he has been tricked again. Catherine is an attractive woman and not plain at all. This is the first of many deceptions throughout the book.
