Sarah, Plain and Tall
By: Patricia MacLachlan
This story is set in the nineteenth century and is a Newberry Award Winner.
Anna's prairie home has been lonely for years, ever since her mother died giving birth. However when her papa places an ad in the paper for a new wife, Sarah comes to stay and brings a new spirit of love to the family.
When you look at us now and you don't have to wait on taking out an ad you can communicate by internet, you don't have to wait for a mail ordered bride or mate to come.
