To Kill a Mockingbird

To Kill a Mockingbird
By: Harper Lee

Scout is a young girl living in a small Alabama town in the 1930’s who is about to learn that life is not fair, that your neighbors may not be what they seem, and that heroes emerge from surprising places. The story is told from Scout’s point of view as her father, a small town lawyer, is asked to defend a black man accused of raping a white woman. Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel graphically describes the conflicts, dangers, and injustices encountered in the pre-civil rights south. Her characters are richly drawn with the weaknesses we fear and the strengths to which we aspire.

I have read this book many times and each time I come away with new insights. This book is a timeless classic which I highly recommend.
