“Big Girl” by Danielle Steele, is the story of an overweight woman who struggles with losing weight, satisfying her family, and finding love. Victoria was the first born to beautiful parents. She is named after her Great-Grandmother who is not considered beautiful, because she bears a resemblance to her. When her sister is born just as beautiful as her parents, her father begins to refer to Victoria as his tester cake, (didn’t come out right the first time, but the second time was perfect). The book takes a journey through her life in which she faces many ups and downs. The lesson to learn is people aren’t perfect but there is a perfect person for everyone.
